The Oxford Cricket Tour is the mainstay of any Buxton cricket season.  Every May half term since 1961 a squad of cricketers from Buxton travel to the picturesque university town for four days, although the original tour was to East Anglia.  The squad, named the Buxton Strugglers, take on the various Oxford colleges and the Oxford Univeristy 2nd XI, the Authentics, in one day fixtures.

The 2011 tour will mark the Strugglers' 50th tour whilst in 2012 it will be the Strugglers' 50th Oxford tour.

In 2010 the Strugglers won two games and lost one with Tuesday's game abandoned due to the weather.  Buxton won of the last ball of the game in Wednesday's match against South Oxford Amateurs who had a strong side out.  On Thursday, a poor fielding display cost the Bucks against Queen's College yet on Friday they convinvingly beat Brasenose College.
